Abstract

1434907 Credit cards &c DEEP PRINT PROJECTS Ltd 11 Oct 1973 [9 Aug 1972] 37104/72 Heading B6A A credit card or the like provided with a region bearing a defaceable line pattern upon which identification means, e.g. a signature indicative of the intended holder of the card is superimposed, is verified by passing light radiation through a screen on to the card to produce a pre-determined interference pattern. The screen may be lenticular, or transparent with a parallel line pattern thereon. The card, which may be of synthetic plastics material, has straight and/or bent lines provided thereon, the lines being evenly or unevenly spaced and either parallel or non-parallel. The lines are engraved, etched or printed on the card. The ink used may be visible only in ultra-violet or polarized light. A frame is provided for holding the card and screen.
