Abstract

1434776 Selective printing A B DICK CO 18 Dec 1973 [29 Dec 1972] 58590/73 Heading B6F In an ink jet printer, sputtering of the electrically charged ink drops on the printing medium is minimized by the creation of a gas flow on to the medium. This can be generated by a fan directed on to the medium, or a porous platen to which vacuum is applied, or a porous electrode which draws the charged ink mist above the printing medium towards and through the electrode.
