Abstract

1434050 Power system supervisory control TOKYO DENRYOKU KK 7 Aug 1973 [7 Sept 1972] 37455/73 Heading H3H In a supervisory system for an electric power system, analogue data at various points in the system is simultaneously sampled and converted to digital signals and the digital signals are processed in data processing means. As described, the analogue data comprises voltages, currents and switch positions, the first two which vary over a short period being sampled by synchronous coders 62, 63, and 64 and the switch positions by asynchronous coders 71, 72. Each synchronous coder is controlled from timing pulse generator 60 and produces a digital output synchronized with the timing pulses after consideration of transmission delay. Each digital signal comprises a 16-bit signal comprising, a parity bit, a sign bit, 11 data bits, a range bit (indicating whether the data is all present or only the most significant bits due to an over range signal) and a bit confirming that the synchronism is operating. The data signals are time division multiplexed and fed to interconnection control unit 75, where storage checking and some calculation are performed. Further processing is performed in the high and low speed computing units 78, 79 and the memories 76, 77. Process control signals are output via interface 80 and transmission of data between power houses is via transmitter 88. Supervisory control signals may be entered at 82 and a printer or waveform recorder 83 may provide a visible indication of operating conditions.
