Abstract
1433746 Making pan grids SAMUEL PEACE & SONS Ltd 20 Aug 1973 [25 Aug 1972] 39834/72 Heading B3A A pan grid or pan grid section for clay grinding is provided with elongated slots 10 by drilling pilot holes and elongating the holes with a tapered milling cutter which is traversed relative to the grid or section and forms slots with one side 12, Fig. 3, normal or oversquare, Fig. 6, and the other side 14 at an angle to the plane of the grid. The angled side 14 defines a cutting edge E. The pan grid section, Fig. 1, is mounted with several similar sections to form a clay grinding disc. The grid or section is made of steel. The slots are arranged in rows which may be relatively staggered and the cutting edges E are radially outermost. The pilot hole drill, Fig. 3, is introduced at the required angle of the said other side of the slot. The angle of the side may be 10 to 30 degrees to the normal and the included angle of taper may be 10 to 20 degrees. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,299,437.
