1433741 Treating soyabean material BRITISH ARKADY CO Ltd 21 May 1973 [19 July 1972] 33712/72 Heading A2Q A food product is produced by (a) cooking particulate soyabean material, (b) conditioning the cooked material by treatment with water to provide a water content of 10-80%, (c) further conditioning the material by heating it to 50-150‹C and (d) compressing the material to at least partly flatten it. The material may be dehulled and fragmented before conditioning. The material may be flavoured either before or after compression. Flavourings specified include salt, sugar, malt extract, dextrose, hazelnut flavouring and walnut flavouring. The compression is generally effected by rolling. The product is generally in the form of flakes.
