Abstract
1433644 Polyisocyanurate foams CELOTEX CORP 7 Jan 1974 [11 Jan 1973] 00694/74 Heading C3R Polyisocyanurate foams are prepared by reacting a mixture comprising (A) a polymethylene polyphenylisocyanate (1) having a functionality of 2À1 to 3À2 and (2) having an equivalent weight from 120 to 180, (B) a polyol having an equivalent weight from 30 to 100 and a functionality from 2 to 3, (C) a tertiary amino phenol, (D) an alkali metal carboxylate, (E) a blowing agent and (F) a surfactant, there being an excess of isocyanate groups over hydroxyl groups. Most preferably the polyol is a diol and is diethylene glycol. The preferred tertiary amino phenol is tris-(2,4,6-dimethylaminomethyl) phenol and the preferred alkali metal carboxylate is potassium-2-ethyl-hexoate. Conventional blowing agents and surfactants are used.
