Abstract

1433529 Bearings H G F BRETELER and H PRINS 17 April 1973 [17 April 1972] 18431/73 Heading F2A A rectilinear motion ball bearing comprises a housing 1 having on the lateral exterior thereof a flat plane 14 provided with means 13 enabling the bearing to be mounted on a surface, a cage 4 defining in conjunction with the housing a plurality of endless channels, each channel having a first load-bearing portion 5 and a second return portion 6 defined partly by the cage and partly by the housing, and balls substantially filling the channels, the balls in the said second portions preventing the housing and the cage from rotation with respect to one another. The cage, which is of brass or plastics, is retained axially by rings 9, 10. Dirt strippers may be mounted in the bore portions 11, 12.
