Abstract
1433291 Etching HITACHI LTD 29 Jan 1974 [13 April 1973 (2)] 4105/74 Heading B6J [Also in Division H1] In a method of manufacture of a colour television tube in which apertures are etched in a shadow mask, which is then used in the manufacture of the phosphor screen of the tube whereafter the apertures are enlarged by further etching (see Division H1), the walls of the initial apertures are provided, by a photographic technique (not described), with a photoresist material 4 which extends up to the required final aperture size on each surface of the mask and the remainder of the surfaces are coated with an etch resistant material 5 which may be C, CBr, CBr 2 , CBr 3 , or CW. The photoresist material is then removed and the apertures enlarged to their final size by etching e.g. with ferric chloride, Fig. 2d.
