Abstract

1431761 Supporting surgical tubes WARNE SURGICAL PRODUCTS LTD 27 March 1973 [27 March 1972] 14339/72 Heading A5R A device for holding a surgical tube, e.g. a tracheostomy tube, on the body comprises a tubular portion 2 having at one end a flange 10 and a pair of straps 4, 6, each strap having an aperture 18 for receiving an attaching band and at least one further aperture for ventilating the skin. The edges of the straps 4, 6 and the flange 10 are chamfered and each strap has one or more ventilation apertures 16. The device may be contourable to the skin surface of the patient may be integrally moulded on a flexible polymer. The internal surface of the tubular portion 2 has a shoulder (24) Figure 3 (not shown) defining a counterbore (22) at the end nearest the flange 10.
