Abstract
1431721 Thread tension detectors LEBOCEY INDUSTRIE 9 April 1973 [28 April 1972] 16906/73 Heading D1C In a combined thread breakage and excess thread tension detector one flap 2 is moved upwards by a counterweight 8 when the thread 13 breaks, and closes an electrical contact; excess thread tension pulls a U- shaped flap 3 downwards, the thread slips off, and both flaps moves up again, the first flap again closing the electric contact. The position of the return spring 19 which biasses flap 3 upwards is defined as crossing the line joining the pivot 16 of flap 3 and the point where the thread rests on the flap 3, with one end (20) closer to pivot 16 than to where thread 13 rests, and the other end of the spring (at 21) closer to where the thread rests than to the pivot 16. The spring tension is adjustable by rotating a button 22 to move the point-of-support of the spring, 21. A metal reed 26 is attached to the flap 3 for the thread to slide over.
