Abstract

1430620 Delivering sheets XEROX CORP 19 Dec 1973 [29 Dec 1972 (2)] 58831/73 Heading B8R In an apparatus as described in Specification 1,429,726, there is provided an inverter 8 by means of which sheets fed on the conveyer 103 are, selectively, either fed along the length of the conveyer without inversion, or diverted upwards by a deflector 131 pivoted into a lower position by a solenoid 143. Such a diverted sheet adheres to by vacuum and is carried up by belts 117 until the trailing edge has cleared the deflector, when the belts 117 are reversed and the sheet is carried downwardly and over a surface 139 of the deflector and back on to the conveyer 103 in inverted condition. The claims are directed to the inverter.
