Abstract

1429706 Measuring grain loss in combine harvesters CLAAS MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH Gebr 30 Nov 1973 [1 Dec 1972] 55724/73 Heading A1F [Also in Division G1] Apparatus for measuring the amount of grain lost from a combine harvester includes a plurality of metal plates 3, each insulated from vibration of the other, held in a supporting member 6 and insulated therefrom by foam rubber members 1, 2, each plate welded to a metal strap 8 which presses a respective piezoelectric transducer 10 against the plate 3, the plates being insulated, in respect of vibration. from each other by silicone rubber elements 14 in recesses at the butting edges of the plates, the connecting leads 11 of the transducers 10 being interconnected by a common conductor 12. The plates together extend across the width of the straw walkers or screen assembly of the harvester.
