Abstract

1429276 Drive gearing for mixing drum ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 24 May 1973 [26 May 1972] 24856/73 Heading F2Q In a cement mixer truck, the driving arrangement for the drum 1 comprises a planetary gearing, as shown double planetary gear I, II, mounted in a housing 15 detachably secured, such as by flanges 13 thereon and on housing 5, to a support structure 6 of the truck. Output planet carrier 10 is fixed to a support stud 11 guided in a bearing 12 articulated to journal 3 of the drum, and a crowned tooth coupling 7, including an outer ring 9 having straight internal teeth fixed to carrier 10 and meshing with an inner ring 8 having crowned external teeth and mounted, e.g. by splines, to the journal, drives the journal and drum rotatably. The arrangement is such that for installing the gearing it is slid by means of said outer ring on to said inner ring and the stud 11 is simultaneously introduced into the bearing 12 after which the flanges 13 are connected by bolts. The journal may be supported in a self-aligning roller bearing 4 which lies in the same plane as the coupling 7 and the bearing 12. The outer ring 9 and the stud 11 may be formed as one component and housing 5 may form an oil chamber.
