1427969 Fixing roof coverings DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 15 June 1973 [16 June 1972 29 May 1973] 28683/73 Heading E1W A roof covering comprising a layer of preformed or foamed in-situ insulation material, with a loose skin laid thereover, is kept in position by means of fixing elements, e.g. 4, 2 with upper retaining flanges 4b and a lower flange 2. In the embodiments of Figs. 1-4, preformed sheets 5 are retained by one-piece or two-piece elements, each with a lower flange 2 longer than the corresponding upper flange 4b and fixed to the roof 8, the roof skin 6 being fixed to the upper flange 4b by e.g. adhesive, the one-piece elements being, e.g. of synthetic plastics, and the two-piece elements may have the lower part 2 of a harder plastics or metal, or plastics-coated metal. One or more beads 3, 3a are provided in the latter embodiments to cater for differing thicknesses of the sheets 5, and notches may be cut in the T-section upper part 4, (Fig. 4, not shown) allowing the mounting of a number of lower parts on a single upper part. In the embodiment of Fig. 5, a prefabricated covering comprises a trapezoidal sheet 16 on which elements 12 are placed; a foamed polyurethane layer 13 is formed in situ between the spaced, parallel elements 12, beneath a layer 15 of, e.g. asbestos fibre sheets, the roof skin 14 being laid on top of the layer 15 and fixed again to the elements 12.
