Abstract

1427821 Valves MEDEX Inc 24 Sept 1973 44729/73 Heading F2V A valve of the type described in Specification 1,344,166 having a cylindrical body 16 with three ports 23-25 disposed at right angles in a plane and an open tubular valve member 17 with slots 35-37 which correspond to the ports is provided with a stiffening element 18. The stiffening element may have at least one projection 47 to mate with a slot to prevent relative rotation of element and valve member and at least one longitudinal spacer 46 to hold the element at the base of the body and so disposed that it does not obstruct the direct line between ports 23 and 24 when the valve is open. In further embodiments the element is the height of the recess in the valve member and has T- shaped or cruciform channels with respective spaces or a central spacer.
