Abstract
1427247 Trisazo copper complex dyes BAYER AG 3 Aug 1973 [3 Aug 1972] 36885/73 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs which in the form of the free acid have the Formula I: where R and R<SP>1</SP> are independently non-ionic substituents, R<SP>11</SP> is CL, C 1-4 alkyl or sulphamoyl or carbamoyl, optionally mono- or di-substituted by C 1-4 alkyl or aryl. A is hydrogen and B is hydrogen, halogen or alkyl or A and B together form the remaining members of a fused optionally non-ionically substituted benzene ring, m and p are independently 0, 1, 2 or 3, n is 0, 1 or 2, x, y and z are independently 0 or 1 and x+y+z = 1, the azo bridge and the -O-Cu- O- grouping are in an adjacent position to each other, and the rings shown with dashed lines are optional, may be prepared by diazotizing a compound of Formula VI: and coupling with a compound of Formula VII: The dyestuffs of Formula I give brown and violet-brown shades on natural and synthetic polyamide fibre materials. An intermediate dyestuff of Formula VII, which has the formula is prepared by coupling diazotized 2-aminophenol with 1,3-dihydroxybenzene and coppering the product with CuSO 4 .5H 2 O.
