Abstract
1426805 Casting processes and apparatus UNITED AIRCRAFT CORP 4 May 1973 [17 May 1972] 21307/73 Heading B3F The apparatus and methods described in Specification 1,369,270 are used to form unidirectionally solidified superalloy articles having a primary dendrite spacing of less than 0À125 mm. The articles may be of either columnar grained or monocrystalline morphology and have γ/γ<SP>1</SP> eutectic pool and MC carbide dimensions of less than 0À002 and 0À005 cm. respectively. The secondary dendrite spacing may be within the range 0À01 to 0À04 mm.
