Abstract

1426775 Road and like rollers MASCHINENFABRIK BUCKAU R WOLF AG 18 Sept 1973 [19 Oct 1972] 43849/73 Heading B7H A vibrating compactor roller comprises a rotating unbalanced weight 7 disposed within a roller drum 2 and driven by vibrator drive means 12 on the roller frame 1 through a vibrator shaft 8 extending through a hollow shaft 16 which is connected inside the drum 2 to a cylinder 17 attached by resilient elements 5, 6 to the end plates 3, 4 of the drum and is rotatably mounted in a support member 21 on the frame 1 by spaced bearings 22, 23. The unbalanced weight 7 is mounted by bearings 11 in a housing 9 carried inside the drum 2 on supports 10. The vibrator shaft 8 is connected to the weight 7 and the drive means 12 by resilient couplings 13, 14. A balance weight 24 is connected through the resilient element 5 to the end plate 3 to obtain even ground loading along the length of the drum 2. A disc spring 27 provides an axial pre-load on the bearings 22, 23. The hollow shaft 16 is driven through worm gearing 19, 20 by an hydraulic motor mounted on the frame 1.
