Abstract

1426219 Decalcomanias COMMERCIAL DECAL Inc 27 Sept 1973 [3 Nov 1972] 45340/73 Heading B6C An overglaze decal comprises a backing sheet, a design layer on the sheet and a protective layer of low melting point glass (frit) comprising increments of lead oxide, silicon dioxide, cadmium oxide, tin oxide and titanium dioxide. In an alternative example the design layer itself contains the pigment and the frit and any further protective layer may not necessarily contain trioxide. A layer of varnish or lacquer may be disposed over the entire decal for protection during storage.
