Abstract

1425684 Polymercapto polysulphide polymers THIOKOL CORP 3 May 1974 [4 May 1973] 19626/74 Heading C3R Liquid polymercapto polysulphide polymers are obtained by reacting a halogen- or hydroxylterminated polysulphide polymer with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal hydrosulphide, a water-soluble sulphite being added either during or after the reaction, the reaction being continued, when necessary, to produce a polymer with essentially disulphide linkages. Alkali metal or alkaline earth metal sulphide or hydrogen sulphide also may be present in the reaction. Examples are given.
