Abstract
1425208 Coin-operated device VDO ADOLF SCHINDLING AG 21 Aug 1973 [19 Sept 1972] 39625/73 Heading G4V A coin-operated device, in particular a parking meter, comprises a coin insertion slot 3, a flap 14 for closing said slot and pivotable by a coin being inserted to unmask the slot and a stop lever 20 having a first portion 20b operatively associated with said flap to normally prevent pivoting thereof and a second portion 20a operated by a coin being introduced to pivot the stop lever and release the flap. In the embodiment described two stop levers 20, 21 are provided at opposite sides of the coin introduction path, each urged into the path by a respective spring 25, 26 with their portions 20b, 21b projecting through respective openings in a curved limb 9 of a plate 8 defining the insertion slot and engaging abutments 31, 32 on the flap 14 to prevent pivoting thereof. As the coin is introduced levers 20, 21 are pivoted to release the flap and are held pivoted by edges 31b, 32b of the abutments 31, 32 as the flap is pivoted by the coin to unmask the coin slot.
