Abstract

1424537 Cinematography G C CARAWAY 24 Jan 1973 3688/73 Heading G2E Motion picture projection includes a light source, projection lens, a continuously running shutter interrupting the light path at a first rate, a source of film pause advance signals having a second rate and means for advancing the film in response to the advance signals at a time corresponding to the next interruption of the light path. The film advance as shown, is by means of a ratchet claw driven by a single cycle drive. As shown in Fig. 2 the film advance pulses energize solenoid 29 by energizing relay 62 to close contact 70. The relay 62 is closed by closing contacts 60, 63 by means of conductive shutter sector 65. Fig. 12 shows another circuit for energizing a film advance solenoid. Fig. 9 shows the intermittent film claw 158 which has a ratchet type head which engages the sprocket holes on the down stroke and slides over them on the up-stroke. The claw is driven by a cam 157 having a dwell 157b holding it clear of continuously rotating wheel 154. On energizing solenoid 162 the cam 157 is moved into contact with the wheel 154.
