Abstract
1424383 Supply systems for spacecrafts or satellites HAWKER SIDDELEY DYNAMICS Ltd 6 Aug 1974 [11 Aug 1973] 31294/73 Heading H2H A power supply system for an orbiting spacecraft or satellite comprises a solar array having sections 12a, 12b, 12c which are switchable into and out of circuit across main bus leads 16 by a control logic circuit 17 of a voltage regulator and an array section 12 connected to the bus leads via a fine control section 21 of the regulator, and a battery 14 provided with a charge control regulator 13. In sunlight, the power supply is regulated by the control logic circuit 17 which controls the closure of switches 19a, 19b, 19c and by the fine section 21 of the regulator which controls the supplementary power supplied by the array section 12. During eclipse, the battery 14 supplies power to the bus leads via the regulator section 21.
