Abstract

1424292 Supporting and ejecting device RAFAUT & CIE 14 March 1974 [27 March 1973] 11508/74 Heading F3C A device for supporting on and ejecting a load C from an aircraft comprises two assemblies A, B each intended to co-operate with a different bore in the load C, each assembly comprising a sleeve 2 carrying a detent or wedge coupling means. The detent or wedge coupling means is actuated for supporting the load by displacement of a core 8 within the sleeve 2 and a linkage 15, (18) connects the core 8 to a common lock-unlock control 19. Lifting means are provided for urging the sleeve 2 and, in use, its associated load upwardly and also ejection pistons 31, 31<SP>1</SP> for urging, in use, the load away from the device. Gas under pressure is used for actuation of the common lock-unlock control 19 and the ejection pistons. As shown the actuator for the common lockunlock control 19 comprises a piston 23 which is held against actuation by a removable pin 32. Pressurized gas is produced by a cartridge fired in a chamber 26, the gas first actuating the piston 23, the pin 32 having been removed, and the piston 23 after its actuating travel opening channels 28, 28<SP>1</SP> leading to the ejection pistons 31, 31<SP>1</SP>. The detent coupling means comprise balls 5 which are urged into their active position by a large diameter portion 9 of the core 8, the core 8 being urged to its coupling means actuating condition by a spring loaded member 8a being urged upwardly by the load C being brought to the device. The sleeve lifting means comprises a manually operable rack 6, 7. The linkages are also manually operable through a formation 20.
