Abstract

142,424. Hartley & Sugden, Fox, S., and Culpan, S. Jan. 19, 1920. Sectional boilers.-In a welded sectional boiler, tubes, preferably made of mild steel, are welded into top and bottom headers or boxes, and the headers are detachably connected together and to the front and back sections of the'boiler. Each of the sections 1 consists of two bent tubes welded into the sides of upper and lower boxes 2, which are connected together and to the end sections by double conical nipples 6 and secured by bolts 8 passing through the boxes. The nipples seat in rings 4 welded into the ends of the headers. Ribs 13 welded to the tubes fono baffles directing the gases up one side of the tubes and down the other side before passing to the outlet flue 14. Sheetsteel casings 11 lined with asbestos enclose the top and sides of the boiler
