1423537 Testing insulation BBC BROWN BOVERIE & CO Ltd 9 July 1973 [11 July 1972] 32590/73 Heading G1U A device for indicating faults 6 in insulation 1, comprises an electrode 3 embedded in the insulation and connected to earth via a high resistance 4 with an indicator 5 in parallel or series therewith. The electrode may be metal, an organic or inorganic material which may be either conductive or semi-conductive, a carbon-fibre reinforced substance or a carbonized material in sheet form. The indicating device 5 may be a meter, a light emitting diode or a trigger device operating an electrical cut-out.
