Abstract
1423519 Coated products STRATHCLYDE PRECAST CONCRETE Ltd 31 May 1973 [11 March 1972] 11491/72 Heading B2E A method of facing building blocks comprises treating the block with liquid so as to reduce the liquid absorption property at least at and adjacent the surface to be faced, applying a mixture of water and adhesive bonding agent to the surface, applying a mixture of cement, water and bonding agent and then applying a mixture of cement, and aggregate. Suitable thermal blocks are those sold under the Trade Mark "Thermolite" which is a mixture of pulverised flue dust or fuel ash, cement, sand and aluminium powder, and also those sold under the Trade Mark "Siporex" and under the trade name "Foamslag". The mixture of water and bonding agent may be applied by brushing as may be the mixture of water and bonding agent and cement. Application of the cement, sand and aggregate to the surface may be allowed to "semi-set" and then is treated with a water jet so as to expose the aggregate.
