Abstract

1423455 Foamable coatings OTSUKA KAGAKU YAKUHIN KK 30 May 1973 [31 May 1972] 25747/73 'Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] Foamable compositions based on an externally plasticized vinyl chloride polymer, a particulate olefin polymer, a blowing agent and, optionally, an organic liquid (see Division C3) are cast on to paper, glass, cotton or rayon substrates and heated to effect foaming. Suitable olefin polymers are propylene and ethylene homopolymers and copolymers, and copolymers containing at least 70% by weight of ethylene with vinyl acetate or an acrylic ester. The vinyl chloride polymer may be a homopolymer or a copolymer with less than 20% vinyl acetate or vinylidene chloride.
