1423266 Thio-substituted triazolo-pyrimidines ICN PHARMACEUTICALS Inc 1 June 1973 [7 June 1972] 26279/73 Heading C2C Novel compounds (I) where R is optionally substituted alkyl, aryl or aralkyl, R 1 is Me, halogen, mercapto or an amine group (including hydrazino and saturated N-containing heterocyclic groups) optionally in salt form, R 2 is H or ethoxycarbonyl and R 3 is H or Me provided that when R 2 is ethoxycarbonyl, R 3 is H, are made by reacting (II) with acetylacetone, diethyl ethoxymethylenemalonate or ethyl acetoacetate and, if necessary, alkylating a compound obtained or reacting it with POCl 3 followed optionally with an amine, N 2 H 4 , a substituted hydrazine or NaHS. Pharmaceutical preparations capable of inhibiting the action of phosphodiesterase enzymes contain (I) as active ingredient.
