Abstract

1423154 Dolls PALITOY LTD 6 Dec 1973 [17 Dec 1972] 56570/72 Heading A6S An extremity for a doll, &c. capable of gripping an object, e.g. a foot, hand or tail, comprises a plastics material having a Shore hardness of from 35 to 70, preferably 40 to 65; a hupke resilience coefficient of from 55 to 75, preferably 60 to 70: a tensile strength of from 40 to 120 kg/cm<SP>2</SP>; and an elongation at break of from 400% to 750%, preferably 550% to 650%. The plastics may be formed from a thermoplastic rubber block copolymer comprising three blocks in the configuration A-B-A, A representing a thermoplastic amorphous polymer, e.g. polystyrene, and B represents a rubber, e.g. polybutadiene or polyisoprene. As shown, the pretensile extremity is a hand, Fig. 1, moulded around an insert. Figs, 2, 3, for pivotal connection to another insert, Figs. 4. 5, attached to a doll's arm.
