Abstract
1423109 Fluid pressure brakes LABAVIASGE 11 April 1974 [13 April 1973] 16321/74 Heading F2F A vehicle braking system includes friction brakes which can be applied either by application of the driver's foot on the brake pedal 3 which operates the brakes through a vacuum booster including a casing 8 divided into compartments A, B by a diaphragm piston 6, 9 and linkage or by releasing the accelerator pedal 25 which operates the brakes through a separate booster including a casing 18 divided into compartments C, D by a piston 15 the second casing offering a smaller transverse surface than the first and being partly housed within the first casing farthest from the brake pedal. Compartment C is connected permanently to a source 12 of partial vacuum and a three way valve 22, electromagnetically operated and controlled by means of a switch 24 connected with the accelerator pedal 25, enables the compartments C and D to be connected or compartment D to be connected to atmosphere via a pressure reducer 28, so that when the accelerator pedal is released the brakes are progressively applied.
