Abstract
Improvements in vehicle braking installations, of the type that includes friction brakes activated by the movements of an organ commanded in turn: - or by supporting a foot of the driver of the vehicle on a brake pedal attached to said organ by an aid mechanism comprising: a fixed box divided into two compartments A and B by a movable or deformable partition -which will be called a continuation "help piston" -, septum attached to the anterior organ by a kinematic chain; and means conditioned to the movements of the brake pedal to maintain the same pressures that reign in the two compartments A and B while this pedal is released and, on the contrary, automatically reduce the relative pressure that prevails in the other compartment A of the box, farthest from said pedal, when the latter is requested to sink, - or by using means independent of the assist mechanism and actuated differently than by resting on the brake pedal, preferably by releasing the accelerator pedal, means comprising: a second fixed box divided into two compartments C and D by a movable or deformable partition -which will be called "relaxation piston" below -, a partition joined as the preceding one to the previous organ, being mounted on a part of the kinematic chain that connects the aid piston to said organ; and means conditioned to the other previous control to keep the pressures that reign in the two compartments C and D equal while this other control is not used and, on the contrary, automatically reduce the relative pressure that prevails in the compartment C of the box, farthest from the brake pedal, when this command intervenes, characterized in that the second box (18) of the installation has a much smaller cross-sectional surface than that of its first box (8) and is embedded at least in part inside the portion, of this first box, further from the brake pedal (3).
