The required axial direction of the propeller shaft relative to the boss is determined and inner sleeve member 6 is positioned within the outer sleeve to receive in bearing engagement the shaft, the inner sleeve having its axis aligned with the required shaft direction relative to the outer sleeve. Liquid filler material 8 is introduced between the two sleeves and allowed to set so that the inner sleeve is retained in the required alignment.
