Abstract

1422561 Hydrogenated block copolymer compositions SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 14 March 1973 [16 March 1972] 12180/73 Heading C3P A composition comprises (a) a selectively hydrogenated block copolymer having at least two alkenyl aromatic hydrocarbon blocks having no more than 25% of aromatic double bonds reduced by hydrogenation and at least one conjugated diene block wherein at least 80% of the aliphatic double bonds have been reduced by hydrogenation, and (b) a polymer of propylene, at least part of which has been chemically modified by reaction with an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, anhydride, imide, amide or ester, or a metallic salt of such a modified polymer. Crystalline unmodified propylene homo or block copolymers may also be included. In examples, compositions are formed from (a) polystyrene-hydrogenated polybutadiene-polystyrene block copolymers, and (b) polypropylene-maleic acid adduct and zinc salts thereof, together with mineral oil and in some cases talc-asbestos filler also.
