Name and number plates, letters, numerals, and the like.-The direction plates used on a sign-post are made either in one piece or are built up from separate letters stamped in plate metal. They are carried in frames f and are introduced as shown in Figs. 7 and 8 from the top, or may be introduced from the outer end of the arm.
