1422288 Electrical generators DUCELLIER & CIE 3 Jan 1974 [9 Jan 1973] 00231/74 Heading H2A In a vehicle voltage generating/regulating system wherein a brush holder 4 with brushes 2, 3 is bolted (refs. 6, 7, 6a, 7a, 8, 9) onto the collector ring end (ring not shown), of the housing of a generator 5, a voltage regulator 1 is detachably fixed to the brush holder 4 by means which establish an electrical connection simultaneously with the fixing, and such connection is covered by an extension region 12 of a casing 10 of the regulator. In the arrangement shown, the fixing and connecting are effected by engaging three hollow pins 23, 27, 24 on the holder 4 with three apertures 20, 21, 22 in the casing 10, and then passing the shanks of three tightening bolts 34, 35, 46 through the bores 23a, 27a, 24a of the pins whereby to screw into threaded holes (31, 32, 33, Fig. 5, not shown), in a plate 30 in the holder; three conductive tongues 13, 14, 15 (Fig. 3) which at one end have apertures 17, 18, 19 coaxial with apertures 20, 21, 22 for receiving the pins 23, 27, 24, and which at the other end are connected into a printed circuit 11 of the regulator, are thereby pressed onto terminal plates 25, 28, 26 of the brush holder, so making contact between the regulator and the brush holder. The printed circuit 11 may include a short circuit compensating circuit for achieving thermally compensated or non-compensated regulation, as desired.
