1422286 Cigarette tipping materials H ROTH & CO PTY Ltd 22 May 1973 24362/73 Heading A2C [Also in Division B2] Cigarette tipping material comprises a synthetic plastics film made from one or more of polypropylene, polyethylene and polystyrene, the film being coated to simulate the appearance and texture of conventional paper-based cigarette tipping materials. Preferably the coating is effected in two stages, the first stage serving to provide a suitable key between the plastics surface and the second stage. A preferred form of first coating comprises a mixture of acrylic and cellulose resins, pigmented with titanium dioxide and iron oxide and plasticised with a citrate. The second coating may be similarly composed, using triacetin as an alternative plasticiser.
