Abstract

1421741 Knitting BENTLEY ENG CO Ltd 31 Jan 1973 [19 Feb 1972] 7797/72 Heading D1C A composite slider in a superposed cylinder knitting machine has two parts, one part 5 held against the other part by a spring band each part having a concave caming shoulder 6c, 5d respectively. When the outer part 5 is moved upwards the caming surfaces cause it to move outwards to clear the needle hook 11 which may then be brought into contact with the top edge 6b of the inner part, the outer part may then be lowered so that its hook 5c engages the needle hook to hold it firmly against the inner part. The composite slider and the hook may then be moved as one. A detailed description of the cams is given (Fig. 2 not shown).
