Abstract

1421447 Labelling A C M BUISE 9 May 1973 [15 May 1972] 22041/73 Heading B8F Successive pairs of labels 19 and 20, 21 and 22 &c. Fig. 3 (not shown) of a label strip in which the labels of each pair are interconnected by a string loop 16, are cut from a label strip and delivered to a sealing head 4 by a unit 7 comprising a feed mechanism for advancing the strip and knife 11 for cutting successive labels from the strip, the unit being swingable mounted on an arm 6 for angular movement about the arm axis 28 above the sealing head between a first terminal position at which the knife is actuated to sever a first label 19 of a pair from the strip to a second terminal position at which the knife is actuated to sever the second label 20 of the pair from the strip to deposit the labels 19 and 20 one on either side of the head and whilst still connected by the string loop. The sealing head squeezes tubular package, secures the abels, and cuts through the package to form two smaller packages, each having a label.
