Abstract

1421340 Mine roof support packing THYSSEN (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd 10 Dec 1973 [13 Dec 1972] 57621/72 Heading E1E Blocks suitable for use as packing for a worked out area of a mine to allow a controlled yield are constructed from a mixture of cement and peat with a mesh reinforcement. The re-inforcement may be made of glass-fibres and the block may also be reinforced by a polypropylene mesh wrapped therearound or arranged in the block in the form of parallel layers or a zig-zag configuration. The yield properties may be modified by incorporating pulverised fuel ash in the mix or by using glass or other reinforcing films therein.
