Abstract

1420842 Pyrimidine derivative PLIVA PHARMACEUTICAL & CHEMICAL WORKS 20 Feb 1973 [8 May 1972] 8379/73 Heading C2C 2,4 - Diamino - 5 - (3,4,5 - trimethoxybenzyl)- pyrimidine is prepared by reacting a compound of the formula (X Y=OH, acetamido) with phosphorus oxychloride, trichloride or pentachloride, if necessary aminating and/or hydrolysing the product of the formula (Z, W=Cl, NH 2 , acetamido) and dechlorinating the resulting 2,4-diamino-5-(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzyl) - 6 - chloropyrimidine by catalytic hydrogenation. The preparation of the starting materials and 2-amino-4,6-dihydroxy- and 4-amino-2,6-dihydroxy - 5 - (3,4,5 - trimethoxybenzyl)pyrimidine is described.
