Abstract
1420837 Purifying Ziegler polyolefins BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 18 May 1973 [19 May 1972] 23725/73 Heading C3P The halogen content of a dry particulate polyolefin, derived from a Ziegler catalyst, is reduced by subjecting the polyolefin to a purification treatment involving the passage of gas therethrough, wherein the purification is effected in a gas phase fluidized bed, the purifying gas being a mixture of nitrogen, steam and an alkylene oxide in the volume ratio 100 : 0À1 to 20 : 0À1 to 20. Typically the polyolefin is polypropylene and the alkylene oxide is propylene oxide.
