Abstract

1420806 Reagent ABBOTT LABORATORIES 5 July 1973 [5 July 1972] 32175/73 Heading G1B A method of preparing a reagent for use in a method of detecting the presence of Group A Streptococci in the presence of other Streptococci and Staphylococci organisms in an unknown sample comprises conjugating a Streptococcus antibody with a peroxidase enzyme by means of a coupling agent (e.g. glutaldehyde or a di-isocyanate), the resulting conjugate being the desired reagent. The peroxidase is preferably horse radish peroxidase or a lactoperoxidase.
