Abstract

142,053. Hachmann, F. Nov. 26, 1919. Brasses and linings.-A journal bearing made in two complementary halves is provided with a number of longitudinal ribs 12 to retain a Babbitt lining 15. The ribs are inserted in undercut grooves of circular or dovetail section. The shells 8, 9 and' ribs 12 are tinned before the lining is cast. The ribs are of copper bearing metal and take the wear when the lining is worn down. As shown in Fig. 8, the ribs 12 are replaced by round wire 19.
