Abstract
1420358 Valves C A BJORKLUND 5 March 1973 15122/75 Divided out of 1420357 Heading F2V A valve incorporates a space which on valve closure increases in volume to suck back liquid from the valve outlet and thereby prevents drip. In a petrol supply nozzle, Fig. 3, having a non-return valve 321 at the outlet, and a main control valve 303 opened by raising a trigger 310 as shown, lowering of the trigger to close the valve 303 causes cam portion 311 to permit a membrane 313 to rise and thereby create a space therebelow, which space is connected via channel 316 to outlet spout to produce the desired suck back. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the suck-back space is formed by a piston and cylinder arrangement (431, 436), the piston being resiliently attached to the main valve. In another valve, Figs. 8a, 8b and 8c, clockwise movement of arm 515 passing through a cam slot 513 and attached to a sleeve 503, causes the latter to move upwardly, whereby it first engages a valve member 505 and raises it and a connected valve member 512 until the latter engages its seat, and finally raises the valve member 505 still further by virtue of lost-motion connection 508.
