Abstract
1419775 Electrical initiators DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 4 Oct 1973 [5 Oct 1972] 45888/72 Heading F3A An electrical initiator resistant to inadvertent actuation by RF fields comprises a bridge circuit in which a plurality of lengths 22, Fig. 2, of incandescent conductor are interconnected by low resistance elements 23 which act as heat sinks for absorbing heat generated in the lengths 22 by the passage of RF-induced currents. The bridge circuit is formed as a printed circuit and has a heat resistant base 7, Fig. 1, through which a rivet 5 extends from a central electrical contact 4 to make electrical contact with a central contact 8 of the bridge circuit. Another contact 9 of the bridge circuit is in electrical connection with the casing 12 of the initiator. An 0-ring provides a seal for the initiator in the base of a cartridge 1.
