Abstract

1419440 Open end spinning ELITEX ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI 28 Sept 1973 [5 Oct 1972] 45416/73 Headings D1D and D1F Simultaneous piecing in all spinning units of an open end spinning machine is performed by a device comprising a contactless detector of the motion of withdrawing and winding rollers of the spinning units, the detector being connected to a counter which is provided with at least two adjustable count detectors. In Fig. 1, the withdrawal and winding rollers 6, 7 are geared together and are reversely driven following a signal generated by the attendant. The motion of the winding roller is detected by a notched wheel 13. After a predetermined length of yarn has been returned to the spinning chamber 12, counter 15 causes a signal to appear at the output of count detectors 18, 19 to disengage reversing clutch 5 and engage forward clutch and the engagement of fibre feed clutch 3. The count detector can be used to control a 2 stage braking of the winding rollers during stoppage of the machine to avoid yarn breakage. In Fig. 3 a separate counter (30) is used to time the interval between the commencement between starting the reverse motion of the withdrawal rollers and the starting of the fibre feed. During stoppage of the machine fibres continue to be fed into the spinning unit and the amount of yarn thus spun and withdrawn during a 2 stage breaking can be measured. In Fig. 4, the count detectors can be connected to different open end spinning machines. A tachodynamo can be mounted on rollers 6 and 7 to control braking separately from the 2 stage braking.
