Abstract

1419164 Coated products DIAMOND SHAMROCK CORP 19 April 1973 [21 April 1972] 18903/73 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] A composition comprising zinc plates of specified size, hydroxyethyl cellulose, chromic acid, a polyether wetting agent and diethylene glycol, all dissolved or suspended in water, is used to coat bolts. The bolts are cleaned by immersion in a solution of KOH and K 3 PO 4 at a temperature of 150‹ to 180‹F. The clean bolts are thus coated by dipping in the coating composition. The coating is cured by heating at 550‹F for 20 mins. The coated bolts are found to have 1500 mg/sq ft of coating.
