Abstract
1419021 Locks INDUSTRA-MATIC (TOOLS) Ltd 29 Jan 1974 [6 Feb 1973 18 May 1973] 5713/73 Heading E2A The fastening bolt of a garage door is operated by an electric motor controlled by a photosensor which may be responsive to vehicle headlights. The bolt 12 is operated through a cable 17 and connecting link 16 from a crank 15 driven by a motor 14 under the control of a light sensor 19 and amplifier 22. A recess 28 in the crank disc operates a switch 20 to stop the crank in a set position. When light shines on sensor 19, it moves switch 23 from its normal path 26 to contact 27. The motor is then fed over contact 24 while the follower 21 is in the disc recess, and then, contact 25 being made, the motor runs when the light is off, to withdraw the bolt. The disc continues to rotate until arm 21 engages the recess. Several recesses may be employed to complicate the opening sequence and make it necessary to flash the headlights several times, and several switches may be employed, one being controlled by a timer (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown). In another form (Figs. 8 and 9, also not shown) several light flashes are needed to cause a stepping rotor to move to a switch-operating position.
