Abstract

1418248 Endless conveyers AMF Inc 1 Aug 1974 [15 Nov 1973] 33969/74 Heading B8A Baking pans 10 which are to receive dough from dispensing apparatus (not shown) are fed onto a panning conveyer 14 by a conveyer 12 whose speed is greater than that of the conveyer 14, the pans being controlled by holdback mechanisms 20, 22, proximity sensors PRS1, PRS2 and by a time delay relay TR1. In operation, the sensing of a pan 10a by sensor PRS1 causes a solenoid SOL1 of mechanism 20 to be de-energized and the mechanism to engage the pan, the conveyer 12 continuing to operate and to cause accumulation of the remainder of the pans. When a start-pan-feed switch (line 8, Fig. 5) is closed by an operator, solenoid SOL1 of mechanism is energized and pan 10a is released for transfer to conveyer 14 where it is engaged by lowering of mechanism 22 in response to sensing of the pan by the sensor PRS2. Simultaneously operation of a limit switch LS1 on an arm 26<SP>1</SP> of the mechanism 22 causes a time delay relay TR1 to be energized. While pan 10a is being held, a second pan 10b is sensed by sensor PRS1 and is held by mechanism 20, Fig. 2. At the end of the delay period, mechanism 22 is raised, pan 10a is released and, in moving beyond the sensor PRS2, causes the latter to be deactivated and mechanism 20 to raise and release pan 10b. This pan is then held on conveyer 14 by operation of sensor PRS2 and mechanism 22 to provide spacing S between the pans. This spacing is selected by adjusting the time delay, the position of the sensor PRS2 or the spacing between the holdback mechanisms 20, 22. In a modification of the Fig. 5, circuit, the need for the operator to actuate the start-panfeed is eliminated.
